Jono Bacon, the Ubuntu Community Manager has put out a call on his blog calling for Ubuntu Global Jam Events to be held on the 1st-3rd of April. This release cycle is a big one with the switch to Unity coming in Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal).

Never before has the Ubuntu Global Jam been so important! In this cycle we are shipping Unity as the new desktop interface, and we are going to be working hard together to ensure that as many Unity bugs are squeezed out as possible. This is a great chance to come along and help test Unity, report bugs, fix bugs, triage problems, write documentation, help advocate Ubuntu in your area, and otherwise make a real difference that will benefit others. Together we can make Ubuntu 11.04 the best Ubuntu release yet! – Jono Bacon

The Ubuntu Global Jam is a great way for the Ubuntu community to unite around a set weekend to work together to help improve Ubuntu. Everyone is able to get involved in the Jam, and everyone is encouraged to contribute. It is all about getting the community together to help improve Ubuntu and get it ready for launch.
